While the belief of Veridicus Ficta asserts that all religions point to the same Truth, Progressive Revelation goes a step further, proposing that all religions also originate from the same Divine Source, much like a Phoenix rising repeatedly from its own ashes. Each rebirth represents a new expression of the same essence, unfolding over time to reveal deeper truths and renewing humanity’s understanding of the Divine.”
Several religious traditions hold to a belief in Continuous or Progressive Revelation. For example, Christian denominations such as the Latter-day Saints, Quakers, and Pentecostals believe in the ongoing unfolding of Divine truth. Similarly, the Baha’i Faith embraces Progressive Revelation, teaching that each new religion is founded by the same Divine Source and adapted to the specific needs, language, and cultural context of the people at the time it emerges. In this view, the Divine tailors messages using metaphors, symbols, and stories that resonate with each culture, making the Truth accessible and relatable to them.
Whether through Divine Will for those who believe in a personal, active God, or through the principles of probability that make improbable events inevitable over time, there will always be individuals who reach enlightened understanding precisely when society is in need of it. These individuals are often able to communicate their insights effectively, armed with the courage to face persecution from those who view new truths as heretical. In doing so, they establish new belief systems—complete with metaphors, myths, and spiritual practices—that resonate with their communities and help others recognize and accept the underlying Truth.
As language and culture evolve, stories and metaphors that were once clear and relatable can become obscure or misunderstood. Translating ancient texts from a language spoken by an entirely different culture thousands of years ago is a challenging task, often leading to mistranslations and shifts in meaning. Over time, as these mistranslations accumulate, beliefs can drift away from the original Truth and enter into delusion.

Progressive Revelation serves as a solution to this problem, offering renewed guidance to humanity whenever the original Truth has become obscured. This continuous unfolding of Truth will remain necessary until a way to communicate it universally, in a manner all can embrace, is found.
The alignment of teachings across different religions is evidence of a shared Source. For instance, those who study the texts of Christianity, Hinduism, and the Tao Te Ching will discover a recurring metaphor: the “Narrow Path” leading to “Eternal Life,” “Salvation,” or “Heaven”—depending on translation and interpretation. This idea appears across scriptures from diverse cultures:
- “Learn by approaching the exalted ones, for that path is sharp as a razor’s edge, impassable, and hard to go by, say the wise… by knowing which… man is liberated from the jaws of death.” – Katha Upanishads 1.3.14-15
- “Narrow is the path and difficult the way that leads to life, and there are few who find it!” – Jesus, Matthew 7:14
- The title Tao Te Ching itself can be interpreted as “The Path to Heaven,” if we understand 道 (Dào) as “path” or “way” and 德 (Dé) as the virtue needed to align with ultimate harmony or “Heaven.”
Despite originating in vastly different cultures, languages, and historical periods, these texts teach remarkably similar lessons about the path to spiritual enlightenment and eternal life.
