Mythopoeia

An Anthropology Term that refers to the Creation of Myths and Mythologies; which are not limited to Real World Religions. Tolkien used the word to refer to what he was engaged in while writing the setting for The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. George Lucas engaged in Mythopoeia creating the Star Wars trilogy and Ed Greenwood did so while creating The Forgotten Realms D&D Setting.
